Classic Sandwich Bread

This sandwich wonderfully soft and tender crumb makes it an ideal choice for any sandwich creation. The texture is so delicate that it genuinely enhances the entire eating experience, making every bite a pleasure.

One of the great advantages of this sandwich is its convenience. You can easily prepare it in advance, slice it when you're ready, and use as much or as little as you need. It also stores exceptionally well, you will find that it can last at room temperature for up to a week without any decline in quality. This makes it a fantastic option for meal prepping or simply having a delicious and reliable bread on hand.

  • 3 tablespoons - Lukewarm water
  • 2 teaspoons - Dry yeast
  • 1 teaspooon - Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons - Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons - Oil
  • 1 cup - Lukewarm water or milk
  • 3 cups - Bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon - Salt

    Pour the lukewarm water into the bowl of your stand mixer. Add the yeast and 1 teaspoon of sugar, and mix to combine. Cover and let it loom for 5 to 10 minutes

    After the yeast has bloomed, add the rest of the ingredients

    Knead for 8 to 15 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic.

    You can also do this by hand, if you do not have a mixer. Mix all the ingredients, then knead by hand until the dough is smooth. It could take you longer to achieve the result, depending on your skill level

    Shape the dough into a ball, then transfer into an oiled bowl. This is to prevent the dough from sticking to the bowl

    Cover and place in a warm spot for 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes. The time needed for the dough to double in size, is dependent on how warm your kitchen is

    After the dough is risen, deflate and shape into a log

    Transfer unto a lined tray. Cover with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise for 1 hour

    Towards the end of the rising period, Preheat your oven to 180°C

    Uncover the dough, and transfer into the preheated oven for approximately 25 minutes

    Remove bread from the oven, and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely, before slicing
